Amager Bryghus – Kid Curry: Born in Iowa in 1867 as Harvey Alexander Logan, Kid Curry was a notorious gunman and outlaw, famous for riding with Butch Cassidy’s Wild Bunch gang. Often Kid was referred to as the wildest of the Wild Bunch. Orphaned at the age of 9, Kid Curry would end up in a saloon brawl in Colorado when he was merely 16, and thus became a fugitive from the law. From then on Kid Curry’s life would just turn wilder. On several occasions he was a member of Black Jack Ketchum’s gang where he developed his distinct appetite for train robberies. At other times Kid Curry would run his own gang with brothers Lonnie and Johnnie, and eventually they would all end up in the Wild Bunch. And all the time Kid Curry would have the Pinkerton detectives trailing him, as he had already become a wanted man while still just a teenager. Over the next year the gang would seriously step up their game with more and more sophisticated train robberies, yielding better and better outcomes. The odd bank heist would be thrown in as diversion. But in 1904 it was finally over for Kid Curry. After yet another train robbery, a posse of lawmen took up pursuit. Kid got severely wounded during the gunfight that followed and decided that a single shot to his own head was preferable to talk in prison. After his death, William Pinkerton said of Mister Kid Curry: “He was the only criminal I know of who did not have one single good point. He had not one redeeming feature!”
